Wow! Great story and pics, thanks so much for sharing! We have lots of mountains and wooded areas around here that yield "hidden treasures" like waterfalls and gorgeous views...not many beaches though! Thanks again for helping us see something we might not otherwise!

Hi Suki,

Great comment and thanks for stopping by and sharing your views. I know what you mean by the change in Yeppoon. I have been here 10 years now and it is amazing to see what has changed, even though sometimes we don't think so.

Iwasaki International Resort / Capricorn International Resort / Rydges CapricornResort - what's in a name - it is the vision which counts.... and wow what a vision the Japanese had for this area - 20+ years ago! And were they right?

YES - look at how Yeppoon has grown! I've been away for sometime (contracts - hospitality) and having arrived back am amazed at the growth/change in just 18 months.

It is really quite exciting to have known Yeppoon 15 years ago and Yeppoon now - don't you just love growth and change (just like nuturing a baby and watching him/her grow and achieve)....

but back to the resort - Yeppoon is surely now ready to embrace what was been offered to it all those years ago (I wonder how many of the now locals know of the attempted 'blowing-up' of the resort in the early 80's? - it wasn't a popular development for what was a sleepy hollow).... Yes the resort is in need of some real money spent on renovation (not just the cover up it has received) - but it needs to know it is loved and really wanted first - do we really love it? are we proud of it? do we want it?

YES - please Mr Iwasaki we are now fully ready for your vision which in turn will (hopefully) encourage professionalism in management, real training for staff and a happy cohesive team atmosphere in the workplace.

Cheers - Suki

@ Jylan: mmh..must be your slow connection then. And no, it isn't mine, it belongs to the KBSC and I'm simply linking to it. Groovy ey? :-)

@ Mike: not particularly the best of view right now with all the miserable weather we've had. Just wait until there is sunshine, you will be in awe. :-) I reckon we should all have that on our local blogs as it is great advertising (at least when the weather is nice) for tourists.

Web cam worked for me, at about 1 frame/s. Very cool. I'd like to do that if I can get a location arranged.
Looks like another wet and windy day.
